Registration
- A Duty of Care (Waste Transfer)
Note

jacket, hard hat, suitable boots
- Extra PPE if required
(e.g. RPE for asbestos)
- A vehicle suitable for
the waste and the tip face
When is the site open?
Monday to Friday - 7:30 to 17:00 and Saturday - 7:30
to 12:00
We close for Bank Holidays, and in very high wind conditions.
Please don’t bring packaged loads in to site during
the last hour before we close.
What loads do I need to book in advance?
All hazardous loads, and all packaged
loads.
Do I need to book non-hazardous loads?
No – unless they are packaged and we need to make
sure the forklift is available.
What’s all this about “waste acceptance
criteria”?
It’s a requirement for all potentially hazardous materials.
Under the legislation, the producer is required to characterise
the waste. Don’t worry, we can advise you on this,
just give us a call.
If you need to have the waste analysed, there are a number
of accredited laboratories offering this service. One of
these (D.E.T.S.) is not too far away in Consett.
How do I find the site?
From the north: leave the A19 at the Bishop Auckland / Hartlepool
junction and take the A689 east towards Hartlepool. As you
enter Hartlepool, turn right into Seaton Lane at the first
traffic island (by the Owlton Lodge public house). Turn
right at the next traffic island into Brenda Road. Follow
this road almost to the end, we are on the left hand side.
From the south: leave the A19 at the A1046 Haverton Hill
Road. Follow this through Billingham and the Clarences,
then turn left for Seaton Carew (A178). Continue until you
pass the Tioxide plant and TERRC, then turn left at the
island into Brenda Road (opposite the power station). Seaton
Meadows is on the right.
