Seaton Meadows Tyre Recycling Facility
Alab Environmental has a tyre recycling facility dedicated
to producing high quality and low cost crumb and chipped
rubber. With the introduction of the EU Landfill Directive
in 1996, the Company soon understood its environmental responsibilities
were to provide a sustainable future for waste and as such
have been investing heavily in new technologies. We have
discovered the great potential tyre recycling has in a fast
growing market for cost-effective, quality controlled recycled
raw materials, which can replace aggregate products in many
applications.
Alab uses the latest in tyre recycling technology to produce
products ranging from TDF (Tyre Derived Fuel) to crumb rubber
consistently sized and tailored to meet the needs of end
users.
The Alab facility is located in the Seaton Meadows landfill
site, Hartlepool and is structured to process up to 25.000
tonnes of tyres - equivalent to 2.5 million passenger vehicle
tyres - annually, producing a wide range of crumb and chip
rubber sizes in industrial quantities, according to our
customers orientations. As a result of its efficient technology
and strategic location, the Company is well positioned to
become the North East’s number one producer of low
cost and high quality crumb and shredded rubber material.
